New Mexican Immigration Law Signed

A new Mexican immigration law (in Spanish) that effects significant changes to the current immigration regime was signed into law on May 24, 2011. The new law establishes new immigration categories and a new Points System for permanent resident applicants based on level of education, work experience, science and technology skills, and other skills needed by Mexico, among other changes. Implementing regulations have not yet been issued.
